Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Make Influential List

They're the superstar actor couple with the ever-expanding brood of children, and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were collectively named among the most influential people in the world.

Time magazine released their 2008 list of the world's 100 most influential people, and Brangelina landed at #21.  And they even got props from George Clooney for their efforts to change the world.

Clooney wrote, "It is one thing to talk about the problems of the world and quite another to actually try to change things."

He continued, "There are hundreds of people who could be honored for their good works, but I've seen Brad and Angelina firsthand, and their commitment together is truly impressive."

Just behind Brangelina, Oprah Winfrey came in at #22, while controversial child star Miley Cyrus was awarded the #59 ranking.

 Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Are Married

In the latest installment of celebrities rushing to the altar, there are confirmed reports that Mariah Carey has wed her short-lived boyfriend Nick Cannon.

According to Latina magazine, the newlyweds got hitched in a small ceremony on an island yesterday in a move that insiders are calling "very impulsive."

Cannon's ex-fiancé Selita Ebanks served to corroborate the story, telling press, "I have no comment but wish them well." Another Carey pal told the Post, "Everyone is happy to see her happy. And it could work out - some people know each other for five years and get divorced. Maybe this is true, instant love."

The whole romance began less than two months ago when the rapper/actor directed the video for Carey's latest single, "Bye Bye." From there, Nick attended the premiere of Mariah's film "Tennessee" earlier this week.

The "Always Be My Baby" songstress was quoted as saying that it was "very nice" to work with Nick, and when he was asked what he loved about her, Cannon simply replied, "Everything!"

 Lauren Conrad and Stephanie Pratt: BFFs?

Given the bitterness and hatred between Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag/Spencer Pratt, it's hard to believe that Spencer's sister Stephanie has made it into LC's 'circle of trust.'

The two "Hills" hotties were spotted out and about in West Hollywood yesterday looking like best gal pals and hamming it up for the cameras.

They stopped off to grab some lunch at the trendy Urth Café on Melrose Avenue.  And as they waited for the valet, both girls seemed to be enjoying each other's company, as well as an icy bubble tea.

The people over at "The Hills" are really thinking these days.  If LC and SP end up BFFs, there could be all kinds of drama, especially between Spencer and Stephanie.  Can you say 'explosive new season this fall?'

 Love is in the Air for Lauren Conrad

Sure, she's had a rough time in the romance department in the past, but things seem to be looking up for Lauren Conrad.

The paparazzi caught up to the "Hills" hottie yesterday as she was enjoying a romantic lunch with her boyfriend Doug Reinhardt at Los Angeles eatery Creperie.

LC originally met Doug back when she was on Laguna Beach, as he's the brother of Casey Reinhardt, one of the show's main characters.

This isn't the first time we've seen Lauren and Doug together… they were recently spotted leaving GOA nightclub together, as well as partying at Stephanie Pratt's big birthday celebration and at the launch of the Scarlet HD TV Series yesterday.

 Karina Smirnoff: Mario Lopez and I "Are Going Strong"

Despite  reports, Dancing With the Stars' Karina Smirnoff says she and beau Mario Lopez haven't called it quits.

"You know, everybody goes through ups and downs in their relationships," she told Usmagazine.com in a telephone interview Tuesday. "That's kind of a given, and it's normal. But Mario and I are going strong."

Lopez, she said, "is a great guy, and I support him 100 percent, and I know he supports me.  "We are totally fine - and I'm not moving out!" she added. "You guys will be the first to know if I'm moving out."

Smirnoff met the actor on the third season of the hit ABC show when he was a contestant. In March, Smirnoff told Us magazine "there is nothing" to rumors she's hooking up with her current DWTS partner, R&B singer Mario.  "We have a completely professional relationship," she told Us. "I have a lot of respect for Mario. He is a great person."

 Lindsay Lohan's New Album: Amazing?

While everyone has been busy talking about all the trouble she's been in during the past year, Lindsay Lohan has been hitting the studio, recording an album that she hopes will silence all of her critics.

And according to FOX News, she may have just the recipe to make a tasty aural treat.  After all, her recent shift to the Motown record label alone has added some credibility to her third major label outing.

Reportedly, LiLo is being joined in the studio by some pretty impressive names.  Guys like Snoop Dogg, Pharrell, and Timbaland are being paid big bucks to help insure the "Mean Girls" actress pulls off a major hit or two.

There's still not a definite release date on the project, but rest assured that if Motown is putting all kinds of money into the production of the record, they'll surely throw some cash into the promotion of it as well.

 Paris Hilton Hangs With Fans, Accused of Hit and Run

What better way to raise money for a charity then to offer the chance for fans to go on a shopping spree with Paris Hilton?

Apparently the "We Love to Erase MS" campaign hit the nail on the head when they asked the hotel heiress to show up at Kitson boutique on Roberson Boulevard to promote their auction.

And Hilton handled it like a pro, hamming it up with the crowd and undergoing several outfit changes before the event was over.

On a darker side, it seems Paris, along with her boyfriend Benji Madden are being investigated for an alleged hit and run.  They're being accused of driving over a photographer's foot as they left a nightclub and failing to stop.

Glen Gurniak, a paparazzo outside the Foxtail nightclub this past Thursday, told press, "There were too many people that side of the car so he swung the wheels in my direction on the other side of the car and got my foot trapped under the wheel. I yelled at him, 'Dude, you've pinched my foot under the wheel, don't drive, don't drive.'"

"He turned and looked at me out of the window and then just drove. I fell to the floor as the car stopped and was just laying on the floor as everyone was screaming at him that he'd run me over."

Police say the incident is under investigation.

Lauren Conrad, Heidi Montag Pose Together for Rolling Stone

Heidi Montag and Lauren Conrad agreed to put away their cat claws – for one day at least – to pose for the new cover of Rolling Stone.

They didn't stand next to each other (Audrina Patridge got between them, while Whitney Port stood on Conrad's other side).

The drama between the two is still brewing. The two both hit the launch of the Scarlet HD TV Series bash in Los Angeles Monday night, and Montag couldn't resist taking a swipe at her ex-BFF.

"I really pray for her," Montag told Usmagazine.com.

Conrad's bud, Lauren "Lo" Bosworth (who was also there), defended her pal. "I wasn't aware that Heidi was an especially religious gal," she snapped. "But if she wants to pray, she can pray all she wants."

When told that Montag is praying for her, Conrad rolled her eyes. "That's really nice of her," she said before walking off.

 Mary-Kate Olsen, Blake Lively Charm Chanel Dinner

Film festivals and high-profile celebs go hand-in-hand.  And last night Chanel held a swanky dinner at Ago in the Greenwich Hotel to honor the Tribeca Film Festival's Artist Program.

Mary-Kate Olsen showed up looking a bit more polished than usual.  Her all-black ensemble may be a sign that she's settling down and growing up a bit.

Meanwhile, Blake Lively got a little bit crazy in the wardrobe department, sporting a fun multi-textured frock with a floral lace overlay and a big smile.

And Christy Turlington (along with Edward Burns) showed that you don't have to be the next young actress to get paparazzi attention.  She looked fabulous in a ritzy black getup as she let her red carpet experience shine through

 Miley Cyrus Photographer Thinks Portrait is "Beautiful"

With so much drama surrounding the Miley Cyrus Vanity Fair shoot, photographer Annie Leibovitz has finally piped in - offering her perspective on the controversial "topless" shot.

"I'm sorry that my portrait of Miley has been misinterpreted," Leibovitz said in a statement issued earlier today. "Miley and I looked at fashion photographs together and we discussed the picture in that context before we shot it. The photograph is a simple, classic portrait, shot with very little makeup, and I think it is very beautiful."

Of the "topless" photo, Miley immediately issued a statement to People magazine telling:  "My goal in my music and my acting is always to make people happy. For Vanity Fair, I was so honored and thrilled to work with Annie. I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed."

Not to be left out of the press frenzy, a Vanity Fair spokeswoman told of the photo in question: "Miley's parents and/or minders were on the set all day. Since the photo was taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley."
